Fear in the Book of Daniel
1: 10 And the prince of the eunuchs said unto Daniel, I fear my lord the king, who hath appointed your meat and your drink: for why should he see your faces worse liking than the children which are of your sort? then shall ye make me endanger my head to the king.
2. 1 "...so troubled his sleep left him" and verse 3 "my spirit is anxious to know the dream"
2:12-13 "...the king was angry and very furious, and gave a command to destroy all the wise men of Babylon... they sought Daniel and hi companion, to kill them."
3:13 "The Nevuchadnezzar, in rage and fury, gave the command to vbring Shadrach, Meshach, and Abed-Nego.
Facing the fire
4:5 "I saw a dream and it made me fearful..."
Daniel having to give the bad news to the king who killed people for less
5:6 "Then the kings countenance changed, and his thoughts troubled him, so that the joints of his hips were loosened and his knees knocked against each other."
5:9 "The King Belshazzar was greatly troubled, his countenance was changed, and his lords were astonished."
6 Daniel facing the lions... much more his enemies facing the lions
6:18 "Now the king went to his palace and spent the night fasting; and no musicians were brought before him. Also his sleep went from him."
Nebs changing attitude about God.
Daniel 2: 46 Then the king Nebuchadnezzar fell upon his face, and worshipped Daniel, and commanded that they should offer an oblation and sweet odours unto him.
47 The king answered unto Daniel, and said, Of a truth it is, that your God is a God of gods, and a Lord of kings, and a revealer of secrets, seeing thou couldest reveal this secret.
Daniel 3: 29 Therefore I make a decree, That every people, nation, and language, which speak any thing amiss against the God of Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego, shall be cut in pieces, and their houses shall be made a dunghill: because there is no other God that can deliver after this sort.
Daniel 4: 34 and I blessed the most High, and I praised and honoured him that liveth for ever, whose dominion is an everlasting dominion, and his kingdom is from generation to generation:
35 And all the inhabitants of the earth are reputed as nothing: and he doeth according to his will in the army of heaven, and among the inhabitants of the earth: and none can stay his hand, or say unto him, What doest thou?
36 At the same time my reason returned unto me; and for the glory of my kingdom, mine honour and brightness returned unto me; and my counselors and my lords sought unto me; and I was established in my kingdom, and excellent majesty was added unto me.
37 Now I Nebuchadnezzar praise and extol and honour the King of heaven, all whose works are truth, and his ways judgment: and those that walk in pride he is able to abase.
How many times is Nebuchadnezzars name mentioned? 8
